Fordite Bullet Keyring

A really interesting piece of Fordite we have hand cut, shaped & polished into a bullet shaped keyring for a truly handcrafted item. 

The perfect and unique gift for car enthusiasts in particular as Fordite, also known as Detroit agate or Motor City agate, is old vehicle paint which has hardened sufficiently to be cut and polished. It was formed from the build-up of layers of paint slag on tracks and skids on which cars were hand spray-painted, which have been baked numerous times sometimes up to 100 times. It has become highly desirable in jewellery making and is rarer than most gemstones. This particular piece has metallic tones within with different patterns all the way round. A beautiful example! This particular piece is from the Jeep Factory 2021. 

The Fordite measures approximately 4 x 1.5 cms at its widest points.
